Storms miss Corona
The severe storm that whipped through the Brainerd lakes area falling countless trees, tearing away docks and damaging homes on July 13 was south of Corona. We are thankful that we did not get hit but our hearts go out to our friends and neighbors that weren't so fortunate.

2015 - the year of the Fish!
The Chinese Zodiac calls 2015 the year of the sheep but at Corona we are calling it the year of the Fish! Starting with the Eckoff's in January every guest has commented on their record catches. The 4th of July was no exception. We planned a meal around fresh fish tacos and were able to pull in 3 large bass and 2 northerns for the meal. Lake Ossawinnamakee was busy over the holiday and at times more like a bumper boat ride. The lake is usually on the quiet side but the 4th always brings out the crowds which is fun and makes for great people watching. I love cruising around the lake seeing families and friends just hanging out on their docks relaxing. The lake residents fireworks show was spectacular from the big bay this year. There was a slight breeze which kept the bugs away. We picked up a few new things to entertain ourselves this holiday; bad-mitten, volleyball and a windsurfing board that can be used as a stand up board but still not the ATV or jet ski the kids are waiting for. We also tried a campfire breakfast of personal Pudgy Pies which was a hit. It was fun to try unique combinations and see how they would taste.
