Christmas in Shanty Town

One of the reasons we chose this weekend to have the "Mercer Family Christmas" was because our neighbors were hosting a annual Ice Fishing Contest. We were all pleasantly surprised Saturday morning, when Shanty Town sprung up before our eyes. Each house displaying proudly their family flag. Rick was tempted to hang his pirate flag from the deck but we seem to have lost it in the move. To bad. It was a unanimous decision to make Aly's wonderful French Toast the official Corona Lodge breakfast. The snow conditions and temperature were perfect for outdoor activities, even a friendly Snow Frisbee Golf game. Almost everyone geared up to crawl through the 18" inches of fluffy snow for the nine hole course laid out. It turns out Seth, Eryn's fiancée who is a amateur golfer doesn't let a little snow get in his way. He won with a score of 23 and Wendie came in last with a 32. It was determined that Soda Stream's Fountain Mist really does taste like Mountain Dew but Lee isn't switching. Cindy was the big winner in the gift category. Her birthday is January 24th so we celebrated that too. Again Andrew and Natasha joined us via Skype, from sunny California, for the celebration.
