Ice Fishing with the Eckhoff's
The fishing this weekend was great! We were so busy catching fish we didn't actually get around to taking many pictures:) I believe we caught 6 northerns, 2 crappies (only two we saw, but got them within 30 minutes of getting on the ice), 1 walleye, 5 large mouth bass (two were about as big as I've seen), and way too many sunfish to count and all in two days. Weather was perfect for getting outside, the ladies did a little ice skating and spent an evening at the Pickle Factory while the guys fished to their hearts content. It was an amazing weekend at an amazing place! Thanks again for sharing your little slice of heaven in the northwoods with us!
A Wild Turkey Day
The Lodge quickly filled up for Thanksgiving partly because everyone was anxious to open their holiday jammies and because of the 1st Annual Wild Turkey Geo-caching Tournament. We had two new guests this year; Andrew who flew in from LA and Sully, Eryn and Seth's adorable 5 month old golden doodle who turns out loves Thanksgiving leftovers. We also had two repeat guests; Lauren and Austin. On Friday everyone split off into teams, registering their geo-caching names and then heading out into the very cold northern Minnesota day. Some teams were at a disadvantage though because other teams had stolen all the hats, gloves and boots available but that didn't stop them from participating and trying to find a few. This years winners were Rick - Papa Bear, Emilee - Emee Bear and Austin - General Patton with 15 successful finds. All the kids enjoyed catching up and sharing some laughs.
