How many more days til spring/summer...
Some people swear by the ground hog but in Northern Minnesota it is all about what's happening on the lake that determines when spring/summer will finally be here. Today at the Lodge we saw the first true sign this very long, cold winter is almost over. The conditions were finally right for our beach enhancements to get started. Bring in the sand!
WhatFour Winter Get-a-way
After spending 10 years together at Harmony Point on Ossiwinnamakee Lake, the 'WhatFour' ladies group spent their first weekend at the Lodge. We left the cities very late Thursday night after picking Tara up from the airport because we were all so excited to get there. Although it was late we weren't worried because Tracy our co-pilot, was on deer watch. Unfortunately, whenever Mary, our driver called 'DEER', Tracy was looking out the sunroof at the stars and would reply WHERE? Needless to say Tracy has decided to pursue other interests. When we arrived everyone fell in love with the place, quickly calling dibs on their new bedrooms and settling in for a long weekend of relaxation, girl talk, delicious food, laughs, Northern Lights, movies and huggs accompanied by a few cocktails of course. The weather wasn't as warm as predicted but that didn't stop us from having a fabulous time catching up. Saturday morning Mary with her keen eye for nature caught a eagle sitting on the ice right out side our window. After Tracy kept saying all through the Keanu Reeves movie Friday night 'I hate him' she spent all day Saturday, on the couch watching him in 'Speed' and enjoying it while Tara, Wendie and Mary took a stroll on the lake. Wendie decided that Tracy was taking her 'I don't like to waste' thing to far when she opened the refrigerator Sunday morning to a glass of wine that didn't have enough in it to be used for communion. The ladies of 'WhatFour' are looking forward to returning to the Lodge in August when they will officially celebrate their 10th anniversary on Ossiwinnamakee Lake.
