It was a intimate gathering for Thanksgiving this year so we decided to switch things up a bit. Of course we did our traditional "Christmas Jammies" which we love hanging out in as much as possible. Byerly's "Thanksgiving in a box" provided the turkey and all the fixings which freed everyone up to be able to play and enjoy the day playing football, scavenging for pine bows and Black Friday shopping while overlooking the swans on the lake. Since the weather was mild we opted for dinner by the campfire. Like the pilgrims shared their table we had a couple of drop-in guests, two beautiful Great Danes from down the road had followed their noses to our turkey dinner. It was like the scene from "The Christmas Story" with all the dogs running around trying to get a taste of our delicious bird. After dinner I quickly realized something else I was grateful for, no dishes to wash! As we sat around the campfire we spoke of what we are grateful for and of course time together at "Corona Lodge" was mentioned often.

Movie Marathon Weekend
Although the weather was beautiful for November our plan for the weekend was to watch movies and do as little as possible. Thanks to a big win at pull tabs on the way up we could afford our Red Box movie habit. Although we planned on spending most of our time on the couch we did plant a new perennial garden, clean the garage and scavenge for winter planter items like birch logs and red dog wood. We also taught ourselves how to use a selfie stick. It was another perfect weekend spent at the lodge.

Oktoberfest at the Lodge
The Chanhassen Hills BookClub returned to Corona Lodge to celebrate Oktoberfest and their friendship. The weekend weather was perfect, allowing them to enjoy each others company while
taking an afternoon boat cruise to see the colors, doing a little shopping and of course eating lots of delicious German inspired food. The weekend festivities also included a beer tasting and watching the Pequot fire department extinguish a small fire across the street that had reignited while the property owners were away.

One More Day
Memorial Day weekend was delightful. The weather was like summer and the house was full. Many new things were learned over the holiday; Brad learned to paddle board, Sulley learned to swim, Emilee learned to put Austin's hair in a ponytail, Gio and Lewcie learned to share the tub during thunderstorms and I learned "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is NOT the funniest movie ever made but that using a projector and screen to show movies is definitely fun. I just hope next time we don't get rained out and can do it on the deck. Rick and I decided to stay for the week to work on projects and relax a little. Our friends Mary and Tony came up on Thursday and brought their 3 ATVs. On Friday we road the Moose Lake trail near Emily and had a blast. The area had gotten 4 inches of rain earlier in the week so there were lots of puddles to plow thru. Saturday we were all on a mission to catch some bass for dinner but weren't able to catch any keepers. Fortunately, Mary had brought up some delicious steaks that we grilled over oak and charcoal. It was a great week and at the end we were still wishing for "One More Day".

What4 Ladies Return
The What4 ladies returned to the Lodge this last weekend for some much needed R & R. The weather was very hot with high humidity so life was pretty laid back for the group. We did a lot of sipping of cool drinks in the shade. It was a great weekend by the What4 standards we did a little eagle stalking, group singing, sleeping in and napping in our chairs. Wendie and Tracy planted some ornamental grasses along the deck which Tracy made sure were watered all weekend to give them a good start even if she was injured with a slight sprain.
